The BDSL is a group of 8 races which Peel takes part in from April to September with other local clubs in Staffordshire – see below.
To score points, we need to have at least 8 men and 4 women taking part in each event, so please make a space in your diary for the following races if you can. They are a great team environment, and you may have a chance for a prize in your age category!
Run in the Forest – 5 Miles
A lovely run across trail paths and roads around Conkers with a couple of short cheeky hills. Run and marshalled by South Derbyshire Road Runners.
Run in the Forest Entries – Sunday 12th April
Uttoxeter Half Marathon
A challenging but enjoyable road race which starts and ends at Uttoxeter racecourse. A good mixture of uphills, downhills and even the odd flat bit. The definition of an undulating course. Run and managed by Uttoxeter Road Runners.
Uttoxeter Half Entries– Sunday 19th April
Washlands Relays – 2 miles (teams of 4)
A wonderful short run where we have a great Peel turnout with some puntastic names! Teams of 4 run a 2-mile loop in a relay format.
Run and managed by Washlands Women Runners
Race entered via club captains – Wednesday 10th June
Gate Gallop – Peel Road Runners – 10km
This is Peel’s big event of the year – our home race! We put on a child’s race, a 5km fun run and the main 10km. We also raise money for St Giles, putting on a fun day including a cake stall and tombola. So even if you can’t run, we always need help setting up, marshalling and taking down the course.
Entry link coming soon – Sunday 21st June
Worthington 6 – Ivanhoe Runners – 6 Miles
The Worthington 6 is a mid-week midsummer evening race held over a one-lap rural six-mile route. Run and marshalled by Ivanhoe Runners
Entry link coming soon – Tuesday 7th July
Burton 10km – Hatton Darts running club – 10km
The course is renowned for being undulating, but thankfully the worst of the up-hills are covered in the first 3 miles, so runners can enjoy the latter part of the race on the downhill section, finishing with the last 400m on the Athletics Track at Shobnall Leisure Complex. Run and marshalled by Hatton Dart running club
Entry link coming soon – Sunday 9th August
