With no races this weekend, Parkrun was the event of choice on Saturday, with the majority of peelers choosing to stay local.
At Kingsbury Water Park, Phil Neale was first back in 23:26. Closely followed by Darren O’Leary (24:36), Simon Gordon (26:16), Chris Bennett (29:48), Lisa Barnes (31:14), Neal Dempsey (33:35), Stephen Andrews (34:53), Claire Guffick (34:54), Roger Eastaff (35:02), Helen Dempsey (36:25), Emma Whorwood (37:30), Jo Insley (37:56), Alison Upton (37:59), Nicola Bannister (39:08) and Lee Guffick (41:30).
At Tamworth Castle Grounds, first back was Wayne Richardson in 21:40, followed by Richard Satchwell (23:26, new course PB), Sophie Galloway (24:21 and 3rd female), Cheryl Flint (27:29), Dan Bird (42:05), Robert Donovan (44:26), Jo Bovington (45:25) and Jonathan Allen (56:23).
In parkrun tourism news, Peelers represented the club at a few locations. Ian Orton completed Bittesby Country Park in 37:43. At Clumber Park, Allen King ran 22:50. Graham Lane ran 29:57 at Cofton Park. At Delamere parkrun Emma Pick ran 20:40 and was first female. Fountains Abbey parkrun saw Mark Boffey run 25:28 and Jackie Tierney 35:29. At Hafan Pwllheli parkrun Katie Stretton ran 26:58 and Lisa Stretton ran 27:38. Steph Attenborough and Jo Sharman travelled to South Manchester parkrun where they completed in 01:01:56 and 01:01:59 respectively. Lastly, Garth Cox ran Watermead Country Park in 25:28.
Peel Road Runners meet every Tuesday and Thursday at the Castle Grounds Skate Park car park at 6.45 pm for a 7.00 pm start. We also have our walking group meeting on Tuesdays, same time and same meeting place. New members are always welcome.
