Despite the challenging weather conditions brought by the weekend storms, Peel Road Runners were out in force once again, with members travelling far and wide to represent the club at Parkruns across the UK and Ireland. From Anglesey to Southampton, and from Cumbria to Cheltenham, our runners showed great determination, braving the wind and rain to produce some fantastic performances despite the conditions.

Away from parkrun, Wayne King was the sole Peel Road Runner taking on the challenging Ravenstone Cross Country event this weekend. Wayne produced a strong run to finish 23rd overall in a time of 34:54, as always fantastic running.

Much further afield, Steph Attenborough and Jo Sharman were running in Valencia, taking part in the city’s renowned Half Marathon.
The race marked the third event in their SuperHalfs series, bringing them another step closer to completing the prestigious six-race European challenge.
The occasion was made even more special for Jo, who celebrated an incredible milestone by completing her 250th half marathon in 250 weeks. A remarkable achievement demonstrating exceptional commitment and dedication to running.

As we move into the winter months and the evenings continue to draw in, we’ve now swapped the canals and fields for our winter routes, helping to keep members on better-lit and more suitable routes for the darker nights ahead. If you would like to come and trial some Club training sessions we will generally meet at the Skate Park at 6:45 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with all abilities /paces welcome.
Throughout the winter training period, the last Wednesday of each month will be dedicated to athletics track sessions, replacing the usual Thursday structured training sessions on those weeks.
If you are interested in joining some trial sessions, please email us at secretary@peelroadrunners.co.uk or message us via our Peel Road Runners public page on Facebook.
